Road King Custom upgraded with stage 1 kit

May 4, 2008

Our Harley-Davidson Road King Custom motorcycle has been upgraded with a stage 1 kit. This included the addition of D&D mufflers and Arlen Ness Big Sucker high flow air filter. The ignition was remapped by Harley-Davidson of Westminster to take advantage of the increased air flow. These modifications increased the horsepower of the big 96 ” engine by about 10%.  The bike sounds great!  The pipes look thin but amazingly give the bike a deep throaty rumble.

Rooster Cafe Motorcycle Rally May 2008

May 4, 2008

rooster-2008-05.jpg The Rooster Cafe, located in Costa Mesa in Orange County, CA, hosts a vintage motorcycle rally on the first Sunday of every month. They have tables outside so you can enjoy the great food, beautiful Southern California weather and interesting bikes. They are right near the Extreme Dream Rider shop. Thus, it is a great place to meet someone before the ride if you are renting one of our bikes. I have included some pictures of some of the cool bikes I saw today.

harley-1946-scott.jpg harley-1946-scott2.jpg 1946 Harley FL
Scott is the owner of this beautiful Harley. Notice the stick shift on the left side by the gas tank and the kick starter on the right side.

bernelli-1966-jason.jpg 1966 Bernelli

Jason traveled all the way from Santa Barbara, CA to show off this beautifully restored 1966 Bernelli. It has a two stroke 125cc engine. He said the bike tracks very well even at its top speed of about 62 MPH thanks to the steering damper. The steering damper was stock for this bike way back in 1966.

motoguzzi-1974-bruce.jpg 1974 Motto Guzzi
Bruce said he may have lots of other bikes throughout his life but he hopes to always hang on to this classic 850cc El Dorado. It has been very dependable and still runs great on the freeway.

honda-1972.jpg 1972 Honda CBR 500
It is hard to believe this custom hard tail started out as a Honda CBR.

yamaha-400-roger.jpg Yamaha Daytona Special 400
This Daytona 400, owned by Roger Arreola of Wicked Motorsports, brings back memories as the first street bike I ever road. I could not believe so much horsepower could come out of a 400cc two stroke motor even if it was highly modified. It nearly pulled my arms out of socket when I snapped the throttle open. I remember my friend, Crazy Craig, passing me on the freeway on his Daytone 400 at about 80 mph on one wheel!

This nice Harley hardtail custom has a 96″ S&S motor and 6 speed transmission.

Pete, from Singapore, rides Goldwing in Southern California

May 3, 2008

Thanks Russ, I certainly enjoyed the ride even though it was a bit hot!

Cheers…….see you next time.

Pete

Hello Pete,

The Honda Goldwing was probably a good choice with the heat since the water cooled engine gives off less heat than the Harelys. Let me know next time you are in town from Singapore and I will hold the Goldwing for you.
